From the Executive Director...
The Towing Industry Loses a Pioneer
Wilton B. Duley passed away on July 8, 2009.
Mr. Duley owned and operated Duley’s Towing Service in Bowie, MD. He was 89 years old. He was one of the pioneers of towing in Prince George’s County. He was still operating a tow truck well into his 80’s. He was always willing to stop and help a fellow tower, or just stop to talk, as he did many times. He loved his cigars or tobacco, his boat and fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. He joined TRPM many years ago and always supported it any way that he could.
He had not been well for awhile.
At his viewing, there were so many beautiful flowers, along with pictures of him with family and
friends; there were also many people paying their respects to him. I talked to many of his friends and
family and they shared lots of stories about (Henry), as he was known by many. It was obvious how
much he was loved and respected.
Members of TRPM drove their Tow Trucks in the procession to Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Two
Heavy Duty Tow Trucks met the procession at the entrance of the cemetery with the American Flag
Flying from the extended booms.
TRPM would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the family. He will be greatly missed in the
Towing Industry.
Sincerely, Betty
TRPM would also like to thank the following Tow Companies that represented the Towing
Industry at Mr Duley’s funeral: Charleys Crane Service, Clagett’s Wrecker Service, N & S Towing,
Ray’s Towing, Ultimate Towing.
