From the President...
As 2009 is winding to a close, I’m happy to say that the TRPM membership has remained stable. We have lost a few members, but have gained more.
Most of the TRPM members are not old enough to remember the depression of 1929-30’s, but I have heard so much about it. Most people struggled through those difficult times and became much stronger because of it. With today’s technology and the determination that people in our industry have, I feel confident that we will see a brighter and more prosperous 2010.
Several jurisdictions have been working on legislation that hopefully will give the towing industry
relief from some of the fly-by-night towers that have invaded our state. Also, the Maryland Task
Force is getting close to a final draft of legislation that should have a positive effect statewide. When TRPM obtains a copy of the proposed legislation, it will be made available to you.
I would like to thank the TRPM members who have given so much time, in an effort to improve the industry for all towers in Maryland.
I hope you plan to attend the Dec 2, 2009 TRPM dinner meeting at Snyder’s in Linthicum, MD and as always I will meet you at the door. In closing, I would like to wish each of you a Safe & Happy Holiday
Season.
Sincerely,
~ Fred Scheler
